About me: I dance, I draw, I think

Born in Tokyo, Japan and raised in Oxford, England, he with the unique, signature braids, Hokuto “Hok” Konishi, celebrates his birthday on July 11. He began dancing at the age of fifteen and his dance background consists of bboying, hip hop, popping, and locking. Hok is also a former member of the dance crew SickStep and has performed in VIBE, All VC, Kollaboration, and the Sai-Gu Carnival.

In May of 2007, Hok was a contestant on Season 3 of the television show “So You Think You Can Dance” and placed in the Top Twelve. His jazz performance of “The Hummingbird and the Flower,” choreographed by Wade Robson, won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography in 2008.

Since 2007, Hok has been a member of Quest Crew and in March of 2009 experienced the Big Win on the MTV show “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew.” Since then, Hok has been touring the U.S. and Canada with Quest performing and holding workshops for dance fans. He also attends workshops held by fellow Quest members and other incredible dancers to further his own talents, and works on individual choreography projects with friends.

Hok says one of his favorite moves consists of “using my hands to play puzzle games.” Although Hok enjoys ‘tutting’ a lot, he says he likes to mix many different dance moves together for a unique outcome

A past student in graphic design, outside of dance Hok enjoys drawing, painting, designing, and playing the violin. Listing many inspirations, Hok says he is most inspired by that which brings beauty to his eyes.
